Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the Lumina Web Highlighter Chrome extension ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of the Service, including users of the free plan and Premium subscribers.

2. Description of Service

Lumina Web Highlighter is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to highlight text on web pages, organize highlights into folders, add notes, and sync content across devices via cloud storage.

To use cloud sync features, you must sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Subscription & Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed monthly at the rate displayed at the time of purchase. Payments are processed securely through our payment provider. Subscription fees are charged in advance.

Subscriptions automatically renew each billing period. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Premium access until then.

We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable advance notice to subscribers.

6. Intellectual Property

The Lumina extension, its design, code, and branding are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

Content you highlight or annotate remains your own. We do not claim ownership over your highlights or notes.

7. Privacy & Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described therein.

We store your highlights and notes in Firebase (Google Cloud) to enable sync. We do not sell your data to third parties.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or profits.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify Premium subscribers of material changes via email.
